Pick a Gift helps people discover gift ideas through quiz answers, saved products, collections, and AI-assisted recommendation tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect the information needed to provide and improve the app, including:

  • Account information from sign-in providers, such as Apple, Google, or reviewer/password access.
  • Authentication identifiers, display name, and email address when a provider makes them available.
  • Quiz answers, recipient signals, gift occasion, budget, interests, style preferences, and country or shopping-region preference.
  • Saved gift ideas, saved products, collections, product pins, and related app activity.
  • Support messages or deletion requests you send to us.
  • Technical data such as app diagnostics, server logs, device/app version, and security events.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Create and secure your account.
  • Generate personalized gift recommendations and improve recommendation quality.
  • Save your preferences, collections, and product pins across sessions.
  • Look up products or merchant results that match your gift request and selected country.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests.
  • Protect the app from abuse, troubleshoot issues, and maintain service reliability.

AI recommendations and product lookup

Pick a Gift may process your quiz answers and gift request context with AI and search services to generate gift directions and locate buyable products. We do not ask AI systems to make legal, financial, medical, or other high-stakes decisions about you. Recommendation output may be incomplete or inaccurate, so you should review product details before relying on them.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate the app, including cloud authentication, database, hosting, server processing, AI recommendation, and product lookup providers. These providers process information on our behalf so the app can function.

External merchant links

Pick a Gift may link to third-party merchants or marketplaces. Purchases happen outside the app. Those merchants process your visits, purchases, payments, shipping, returns, and customer support under their own policies.

Purchases and payments

The current app does not process in-app purchases, checkout, payment cards, shipping addresses, or order fulfillment. If this changes, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before using the new data practices.

Tracking and sale of personal data

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for cross-app tracking unless we first update our practices, disclosures, and any required consent flows.

Retention

We keep account, preference, saved item, collection, and product pin data while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. We may keep limited records when required for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup integrity.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your information by contacting us. You may also delete your account from inside the app where available. Account deletion removes or disconnects your account data from the service, subject to limited retention described above.

Children

Pick a Gift is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

International use

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. We use service providers that may operate globally and apply safeguards appropriate to the services they provide.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate. App Store privacy information should always match the app's current data practices.
